Galaxy Safari | Stromlo Stargazing Experience

Mount Stromlo Observatory has been carrying out astronomical observations for over 100 years, and before the 2003 firestorm, had grown from a small outpost of pioneering astronomers to one of the world's great observatories. 

Now you can see it yourself through the unique opportunity of a Galaxy Safari!

Led by a team of professional or experienced amateur astronomers from the Research School of Astronomy & Astrophysics and the Canberra Astronomical Society, our Galaxy Safari include after-hours access to the observatory, the use of Mt Stromlo’s telescopes, and most important: guided tour to the most interesting features of the Southern Hemisphere sky, in a group of at most 10 participants for 60 minutes.
